LEJOG training ramping up

DONATE HERE TO ASPERGILLOSIS

Just 7 weeks till we start our LEJOG challenge - 1,600km in 7 days. Hopefully, the weather will be a little kinder than today with wind from the completely wrong direction!

Just in case there’s any doubt of how big that route is the photo below should help! We don’t do that exact route but it will be similar in distance and difficulty.

Just 7 weeks till we start our LEJOG challenge - 1,600km in 7 days. Hopefully,
In any case next weekend (May 24 to 26) we will test our ability to do a multi day event covering more between 160k and 250k each day with our “STJOG” challenge - Stranraer to John O’Groats. At the moment the weather is looking good for the first day but northerly winds are forecast for days 2 and 3 so we may do the distance but in a slightly different direction.

Training this year has been good - Andy has covered 4,300km; David 3,300 and John (who is by the far the fittest and youngest!) has covered 2,600km. Andy and John are no strangers to tough cycling having completed the Mark Beaumont coast to coast 240 mile cycle last year in one day!

Most importantly the main reason we are taking on this LEJOG challenge is to raise money for 2 great causes - Aspergillosis and the Balerno High School (BHS) Tanzania house building initiative. Over the coming weeks we will tell you more about both.

For now we have set up our fund raising pages. You can donate at the links below and remember every donation no matter how small or big will help motivate the three of us to cycle harder and later into the night.
